I have been married to Steve for 34 years and have a blended family of 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. I am an 11th generation Texan, who loves being a part of this great state. One way we give back to the community is serving Meals on Wheels. I love exercising and my favorite is water aerobics. My husband and I have been involved in life groups for 32 years because we love being in relationship with others and growing in the Lord.  During the last 16 years at LCF I have been part of: after service ministry, children’s church, women’s ministry and various types of life groups. I believe life is better when we do it together.

Psalm 116 Verse 1 says, “I love the Lord for he heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy.” Many times we try to go it alone and figure things out on our own, instead of having conversation with the one who can provide all the answers.  Life is so much easier when we learn to go to God with our needs first, instead of trying to figure it out ourselves. The Psalmist goes on to tell of the struggles he encounters and how he is so overcome by trouble and sorrow. Then he remembers, he is not alone, and calls out to the Lord; “Lord save me!” The Lord is gracious and righteous and full of compassion, he will never leave us high and dry.  The more we have those conversations with the Lord and listen for the answer’s our faith will rise up and our love for him will increase and our spirit will be at peace. In verse 7, He says, “be at rest once more, oh my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.”  Praise the Lord!

Oh my Lord, you are so wonderful, I stand in awe of you. Please forgive me for trying to figure out everything on my own. Teach me to come to you for even the smallest issues, like finding the new pajama bottoms I put somewhere or the greatest woes in life that affect the world. You are my God and King, the only redeemer of my soul. I pray for that to sink in to the depths of my being. I love you, for I know you hear my cry for mercy and will always be with me wherever I am. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Such a great reminder that we are not in this alone! Our society tells us to be strong independent women but the Word reminds us that we are only strong when we are resting on the Rock. I always need this reminder. Thanks Randy!
