Day 2: Psalm 29

In what appears to be in the Lord’s plan for my life, I have remained single and found fulfillment in where He has blessed me.  I have lived in several states growing up, as I moved around with my family.  I went to Southern California College (now called Vanguard), a Christian college in Costa Mesa, California for 2 1/2 years.  I settled in Plano, Texas, for 16 years working for several oncologist doctors and also in psychiatric offices, as medical receptionist.  Due to heath reasons, I moved to Gig Harbor in the state of Washington to join my family, who lived there.  While living there for eight years, I assisted in the care of elderly grandparents and other extended aging family members.  Our immediate family moved back to Allen, Texas, where we attended a church in Lucas.  We now reside in McKinney, where we have lived for three years and recently the Lord led our family to visit Lighthouse, which we realized was practically in our back yard!!  We have been attending for four months and believe He has confirmed for us that this is our new church home.

This Psalm shows the sovereignty of God and the strength of His might.  The last two verses especially speak to me personally:

“The Lord sat as King at the flood, yes the Lord sits as King forever. The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.”

This verse gives me assurance and that “ahah” feeling when I am going through trials and a confidence to see it through.  It gives me hope in the midst of a flood of circumstances, which I cannot control or understand.  It encourages me to put my trust, where it belongs, back on Jesus, my Lord and my King. He extends this invitation to us all who belong to Him.

Father God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus, Who is the Living Word, and as I spend time in Your written Word and prayer, Your Holy Spirit gives me the strength and peace and assurance needed for whatever my day holds.  Thank you that you equip me with what You have provided through Your Son Jesus and Your Holy Spirit, who Jesus promised would lead us into all truth.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Thank You for sharing your testimony with us. This reminds me that God is never far away, that all I have to do is speak His name and He is with me to provide peace. I claim His peace in whatever circumstance I encounter. Thank You, Michele.
