My name is Cassie and my family moved to Texas 4 years ago from Southern California. I have three beautiful daughters; Maddie (8), Penelope (6) and Abigail (3); and, a truly amazing husband, Brandon. I am so glad that we found Lighthouse shortly after moving because I LOVE the fact they they are so community-driven. The friends I have made there are like family to me. Most people know I am a photographer and I love having that outlet to express my creativity.
Psalm 37 is full of so many good nuggets. It gives you step by step guide on how to live a Christ-driven life. So often I get caught up in the day to day stresses and worries - in trying to keep up with the world and others - that is causes me to feel overwhelmed with anxiety and full of worry; and, at times, this can express itself outwardly in anger. But right here in this Psalm, we are told simply to trust in the Lord. How simple it is, yet how quickly do we forget. Words like "be still, trust, be patient, do not worry" these all bring about a sense of peace and calmness when you put your faith in God. The Psalm itself seems to repeat its message a few times which shows me how important these truths are. Those who believe in Christ and trust in the Lord and turn away from evil things are promised an eternal life with Him forever! I know things get crazy and the rush of a day can make one give into temptations or act out of selfishness, but by reading this Psalm in the morning it can help refocus your day and remind us to consider God first in all we do. It's a very comforting thing to know we don't have to do it on our own. The burden is much less than what we think we carry.
Thank you, God, for your mercies and walking along side us to guide and direct us, even when we make mistakes. In Jesus' name, Amen!
