My name is Mackenzie Hook. I am 19 years old, and my family and I have been attending Lighthouse for a little over 8 years now. As most of you may know, my dad is the lead worship pastor for Lighthouse. Coming to this church has been so great for myself and my family. We have built so many relationships over the years and have really developed one big family as a church. We have recently just moved to Prosper, making us much closer to the church, and closer to many other members of Lighthouse. We love it here!
Psalm 119:41-42 41: "Let your steadfast love come to me, O Lord, your salvation according to your promise; then shall I have an answer for him who taunts me, for I trust in your word." When I was asked to be apart of this fast, I’m not going to lie, I began to worry. I started to think about how I may be the youngest one participating. I worried that I wasn’t wise enough. I was scared of not knowing the right things to write about or saying something that didn’t make sense. Then I began to go through Psalms, trying to pick my favorite or the one that stood out to me. (Which is hard, because of so many good ones!) This verse stood out to me because it reminds me to trust.
Trust is always something I struggle with, something I’m sure we all struggle with on the daily. It can be scary at times. So, it’s amazing to have this reminder every single day, that we can put our trust in Him! It is so comforting to know a God who always has our best interest in mind. Putting your trust in Him will lift this heavy weight off your shoulders. Knowing he has everything completely under His control. I am so happy to be apart of this journey with y’all and I hope I was able to share something that spoke to you. I am not the best at writing things like this, but I wanted to give it my best shot!
Father, thank you that your trustworthy. Help me to lean on you and your Word, knowing in you I have all I need. You are a good God. I trust in you, no matter the circumstance, no matter my feelings. Help me to keep my eyes firmly fixed on you. In Jesus' name, amen!

Thank you, Mackenzie, for sharing and being brave to participate. We all needed the reminder you gave us today to trust God who loves us so much.

Mackenzie, those were my thoughts too when they asked me to be a part of the devotional. There are so many chapters that are great but I looked for one that spoke out to me at that moment in time. Everyday is a new day to love and be loved by God. Ephesians chapter 1 is a great place to read of your worth to Him. Thank You for sharing.
