Hi! I'm Morgan Cook, and I'm 23 years old. My parents, Scott & Beverly, and I have been members of Lighthouse since the very beginning of the first building back in 2003! I am single, and have an older brother, Austin, and sister-in-law, Kayla.  Texas has been my only home! My passion is anything creative, and I'm in the process of starting my own business which will merge not only my passion for art, but also my love for design & fashion.
The reason that I love Psalm 46 is that it reminds me of the comfort that we can take in the fact that God is in CONTROL! I struggle with anxiety and fear that started when I was about 17 - that point in life where you start thinking about what you are going to do with your life. I was insecure and very unsure of what my next step in life should be. I felt like I had to have it all figured out, and I didn't. I didn't even know the first step! It was overwhelming! God's word in Psalm 46 brings assurance to me that He IS my refuge and strength! He IS my ever-present help! He IS in control, and I don't need to be! My part is to be still and know that He IS God! And He will take care of everything that concerns me. Psalm 138:8 declares that, "The Lord will perfect that which concerns me...." That's His promise to you as well!
Heavenly Father, thank You that You are always with us and that we can take comfort in you at all times. When fear and anxiety creep in, I pray that you will perfect your love in our hearts and drive out all that is not of You. Help us to be still before You, to know You deeply, and to know exactly how much we are loved by You. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for your bravery & honesty in sharing! A good reminder that He IS in control, no matter our circumstances. He loves us & is for us.
